Terms of use

The rules for using PieToolkit's tools and site, in plain words.

Last updated

1. What these terms cover

These terms apply to pietoolkit.com and every tool on it. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. "We" and "us" mean PieToolkit; "you" means anyone who uses the site.

2. The service

PieToolkit offers free tools that run inside your browser. They are provided as they are, with no promise that they will suit a particular purpose, work without interruption or produce a perfect result every time. We may change, pause or remove any tool at any time. We try to keep the tools working well, and most jobs finish in seconds, but a free service cannot carry a guarantee.

3. Your files and your results

Files you add to a tool stay yours, and so does every file a tool makes from them. We claim no rights over either. Because the work happens on your device, we never receive your files and cannot restore them, so keep your originals until you have checked the result.

You are responsible for having the right to use the files you process. Do not use the tools on material you are not allowed to copy, change or redistribute.

4. Acceptable use

You may use the tools for any lawful purpose, personal or commercial. You may not:

  • use the site to break the law or to harm, harass or deceive anyone;
  • run automated scripts or bulk requests against the site or its API, scrape it, or re-host its tools, scripts, models, icons or text on another site;
  • try to disrupt the site, its servers or the services it relies on, or to get around its rate limits or bot checks;
  • use the website and network checks to overload, probe or attack a website, or to test one you have no right to test;
  • hot-link the site's assets from another site.

We may block an address or a network that breaks these rules, without notice.

5. Our content

The site, its design, its code, its icons and its text belong to PieToolkit and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may link to any page freely. You may not copy the site or its parts, or create derivative works from them, without written permission. The open source libraries the tools are built on keep their own licenses, listed in the third-party notices.

6. Advertising and other services

The site is funded by advertising served by Google AdSense. Ads are chosen and provided by Google and its partners, not by us, and we are not responsible for their content or for the sites they lead to. Some tools send requests to outside services to do their work; the privacy policy names each one. Those services have their own terms.

7. No warranty

To the fullest extent the law allows, the site and its tools are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. The disclaimer explains what particular tools can and cannot promise.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, PieToolkit is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or your inability to use it, including lost data, lost profits or indirect, incidental or consequential damages, even if we were told such damage was possible. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us to use the site, which is nothing.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, including liability for fraud.

9. Copyright complaints

If you believe content on the site infringes your copyright, send a notice to legal@pietoolkit.com with the work concerned, the page where it appears, your contact details and a statement that you are the owner or act for the owner. We act on complete notices promptly.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version. A change that matters is announced on the page before it takes effect. Using the site after a change means you accept the new terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the country in which PieToolkit is established, and disputes go to the courts of that country, unless the law where you live gives you a right to a court nearer to you.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms: legal@pietoolkit.com. The contact page has every other way to reach us.

Your files stay on your device

Every tool runs inside your browser. The files you add are never uploaded, never stored and never seen by anyone at PieToolkit.
